Prescott Valley Public Library is hosting a special Summer Reading Kickoff event presented by Tri-City Performing Arts. Join us on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 3:30-6:30 PM to help us kick off our summer reading program. 

Passport to Dance Day is a fun-filled adventure where families explore the magic of movement, music, crafts, and storytelling through dance! Children and teens will travel through interactive stations, collecting stamps in their dance passports as they complete each activity.

Stations Include: 

📖 Storybook Dance – Act out dance elements while listening to a lively read-aloud. 

🎨 Dance & Craft – Create dance-themed crafts and show off new moves. 

🥁 Rhythm Station – Tap along to upbeat music and explore rhythm. 

🌍 Cultural Dance Exploration – Learn steps from dances around the world. 

📚 Movement Story Creation – Read a dance-related book and express the story through movement. 

🎵 Freeze Dance – Dance to the beat and freeze when the music stops! 

🧘 Stretch & Learn – Discover the importance of flexibility through guided stretches.

After visiting each station, children and teens will receive a special stamp in their passports. Once they've completed their journey, they’ll have a full passport celebrating their dance-filled day!

While most of the stations are geared toward children, there will also be a craft station for teens and adults. Families of all ages are welcome to attend this special Summer Reading Kickoff event and sign up for summer reading at the same time. This year’s Summer Reading Theme is Color Our World. Registration is not required.
