Meet The Janimal, Our Current Writer-in-Residence!

The Janimal is a self-described "Jersey tomato roasting in the Arizona sun." A graduate of Rutgers University's Mason Gross School of the Arts, he now calls Northern Arizona home, where he lives with his family and two cats. His distinctive, fun, and retro-inspired cartoon style has graced comic conventions across the country, from Phoenix Fan Fusion to New York Comic Con. He also serves as the acting president of the Northern Arizona Cartoonist Association (NAZCA).

For the past five years, The Janimal has been a beloved fixture at Verde Valley libraries and LibCons, offering drawing comic demo classes that perfectly blend creativity and entertainment. You can find out more about The Janimal at https://thejanimaldraws.com/
