Program Description

Event Details

Prescott Valley Public Library will host Writer-in-Residence Janette Rallison. Join us for special Writer in Residence writing workshops from May through July.

Creating Compelling Characters --- Think of your favorite books. Most likely, you love those books because of the great characters in them. People remember, get attached to, and want to read more about their favorite characters. How can you, as a writer, bring your characters to life? How do you make sure they are vibrant and likable? Come to this class and find out.

This class is open to teens and adults. Registration is separate for each workshop.

Future Writer in Residence Workshops:

Summer 2026 Writer in Residence – Janette Rallison

Janette Rallison, Prescott Valley’s 2026 Writer-in-Residence, is a USA Today bestselling author. Janette Rallison/CJ Hill writes books because writing is much more fun than cleaning bathrooms.  Her avoidance of housework has led her to write 40 novels that have sold over 1,000,000 print copies and have been on many reading and state lists. She lives in Chandler, Arizona, with her husband and enough pets to classify her as eccentric.

Some published works include:

We Are Never Getting Together (2026)

A Longtime (and now NFL player) Nemesis (2025)

Empowereds: A Post Apocalyptic, Dystopian Romance (2024)

The Wizard's Mark (2024)

Slayers Series (2011-)

My Fair Godmother (The Fairy Godmother Series) (2009-)
