Event Details
Most stories are built on a convincing conflict that not only fuels the plot but also creates drama and tension. No matter the style, period, or author of a work of literature, most conflicts are created by an antagonist. In this class you will discover how to build and bring to life vivid, complex, and memorable antagonists. We will perform written exercises in order to develop a well-rounded and in-depth antagonist. Join us on Wednesdays, September 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th, 2023 from 12-2 pm. We will develop inner (thoughts and feelings) and outer (appearance, habits, behavior) lives for our antagonists and see how that can lead us to richer and more interesting stories. We will learn to elevate the drama in a story by using an antagonist as an opposing force to the protagonist.
Registration is for a 4-week class series.
Attendance is required for the first class. If you miss the first class, you will be removed from the class but are welcome to register for the next class series.
