It's freedom to read week and this week we're getting together and making Zines! What is a Zine? A zine, pronounced “zeen” (just like the end of the word magazine), is a little homemade book. There are no set-in-stone rules for making zines. A zine can be about anything you’re interested in. Really! There are all kinds of zines including: fanzines (a zine about something or someone you love), cooking zines full of recipes and tips, comic zines, art zines, poetry zines, and personal zines where people write about their daily lives.

Tweens, kids, and everyone in the family join us this Friday from 3:00pm to 4:30pm to celebrate your creativity and self expression to make your very own zine. We'll have plenty of crafts, art supplies, and objects to decorate your zines. Take it home or have it published and add it to the library collection!
