Join us at the library for a fun and engaging introductory workshop to understanding financial literacy, created especially for children ages 5–8! Through interactive presentations, discussion, and hands-on activities, kids will explore the basics of money in a fun and age-appropriate way.
This workshops introduce core concepts such as spending, saving, and giving, helping children learn how to make thoughtful choices with money and understand that it can be used to meet needs, plan for goals, and help others. Designed to build confidence and curiosity, this program supports early money skills while encouraging kindness, responsibility, and teamwork.
Perfect for young learners and their families, this interactive series makes learning about money simple, positive, and fun—no prior experience needed!
*Please note that these are stand-alone workshops and they do not build on each other so registrants can attend any sessions of interest.
Session 1: Spending Wisely
What should you buy and why? In this session, children will learn the basics of spending money through interactive presentations, discussion, and hands-on activities. Kids will explore the difference between needs and wants and practice making thoughtful choices when deciding how to spend money. This session helps build early decision-making skills in a fun, playful way.
