From the majestic Red Rocks of Sedona to the mighty volcanic peaks of Flagstaff, learn why the geologic formations of northern Arizona put on a spectacular show. In this lecture, Danny Foley will provide a better understanding of what makes northern Arizona a true geologic wonderland. Whether visiting our many national parks or viewing the diverse geology from the roadside, satisfy your curiosity of this fascinating geologic story eons of years in the making and preserved in stone. Danny Foley is a geologist who has earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University (NAU). He is a scientific researcher who has worked for NASA in planetary geology and as an instructor of geology in higher education. Foley is interested in better understanding our dynamic world and how geologic processes and materials work in an overall system. Geology Talks are in partnership with ​GEM Environmental and presented with funding from the Friends of the Prescott Public Library.
