Event Details

Prescott Valley Public Library will be hosting Health Talks: A Wellness and Prevention Series provided by Yavapai County Community Health Services on Thursday, September 19th, 2024, from 5:00-6:45 pm.

Join us this month to learn about the impact of Cannabis on mental health. Cannabis is unique in that our culture believes it is both a medicinal and recreational drug. Exploring the relationship between marijuana use and mental health, we will work to establish a baseline for what today's marijuana is, discover the complexities of treating mental illness including depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and suicide, and hear stories and case studies of what is happening in our communities.

The presenter, Nikki Rosson is a Program Manager for MATFORCE. She serves Yavapai County community members by educating youth and adults on substance use issues affecting our communities. Through presentations and resource materials, she gives them tools and support to empower them to thrive in their communities. She also serves Arizona communities by supporting 17 primary prevention coalitions across the state focusing on quality, compliance, and expansion of services.
