Roy knows that running isn't strange, but the boy he spots running away from the school bus without shoes on is very strange. Maybe that's just Florida, or maybe it has something to do with burrowing owls, and a nearby construction site. In the award-winning book Hoot by Carl Hiaasen, Roy will learn to embrace the strangeness of his new home and new friends as they fight for the rights of some small, feathered creatures who cannot stick up for themselves. For youth, grades 5-6. Register online, at the Youth Desk, or call 928.777.1537. All registered members will receive a personal copy of each month's book. Note: If your family registers more than one child for this book club, you will receive just one copy of the book. This will make the program available to more children. Presented with funding from the Friends of the Prescott Public Library. |
