Event Details
Prescott Valley Public Library is hosting an open house on Memory Kits on Tuesday, May 9th, 2023, from 1:30-2:30 pm. Join us for a preview of the newly created Memory Kits at our upcoming Memory Kit Open House Program! Memory Kits are designed to support caregivers, family members, and those living with Alzheimer’s disease, memory loss, or other cognitive impairment by providing themed memory kits that contain activities, music, and resources.
Memory Kits are designed to trigger memories and stimulate conversation about life experiences. Each themed kit is specifically selected to spark memories, create conversations, and provide positive and engaging interactions between people with Alzheimer’s and other dementia related conditions and their caregivers. Kits also contain resources and supportive materials for caregivers.
Each of our kits has a book designed for people with dementia, with pictures, a few words, and question prompts. They also include a CD, either one that sparks memory or for relaxation; an activity based on where the individual is in their dementia journey (Early, Mid, and Late-stage dementia); and a guide for caregivers.
No registration required.
