Purpose of Meeting

Presentation of “Operation BedRoll a community project”
A combination of Information, Instruction and Practice opportunity.
This project will be upcycling about 120,000 plastic grocery bags out of our local environment annually
Volunteers will sign up to do one or more of the following~
1.) bag collection
2.) sorting and cutting bags into strips
3.) turning strips into “Plarn” (plastic yarn balls)
4.) learning how to crochet a Mat
5.) learning how to weave a Mat
Not all volunteers crochet or weave the mats, in fact the majority of volunteers are needed in collecting, preparing & processing the bags.
This is a great community project for teen groups, high school service clubs, scout troops, community service groups, senior citizen groups, home bound, church groups etc
Most of the work on this project is done at home, but we will meet monthly to process bags.
