Editing is a necessary part of the writing process. Author Heidi Thomas will explore the types of editors and editing that an author may need to publish a book including copy editors, line editors, proof readers, and more.  Raised on a ranch in isolated eastern Montana, Heidi Thomas has had a penchant for reading and writing since she was a child. Armed with a degree in journalism from the University of Montana, she worked for the Daily Missoulian newspaper, and has had numerous magazine articles published as well as a variety of books, including three award-winning novels based on that grandmother's life: Cowgirl Dreams, Follow the Dream, and Dare to Dream. Heidi is a freelance editor, teaches community writing classes, and is working on the next book in her ""Rescue"" series. Prescott Writers is hosted by Central Arizona Writers and presented with funding from the Friends of the Prescott Public Library.
