Prescott Valley Public Library in partnership with Silverkite Community Art Classes presents Acrylic Painting: Northern Lights in Colored Pencil from 11:30AM-12:30PM on Saturday, January 24, 2026. This is a virtual, live online art class for adults. 

Join us live online to paint the magic of the northern lights. In this step-by-step virtual class, you’ll learn beginner-friendly acrylic techniques like blending, layering, and brushwork to capture the glowing greens, purples, and blues of the aurora borealis. Follow along from the comfort of home and create your own luminous sky scene masterpiece.

Supplies:

  • Canvas or Bristol board
  • Acrylic paint
  • Palette (or palette paper or a plate)
  • Brushes (round and flat)
  • Cup of water
  • Paper towels
  • Pencil

 

Optional: 

  • Heavy gel medium, if using thinner paint
  • Palette knife
