Prescott Valley Public Library in partnership with Silverkite Community Art Classes presents Watercolor: Self Portraits Inspired by the Color Blue from 11:30AM-12:30PM on Saturday, January 10, 2026. This is a virtual, live online art class for adults. 

Join us live online for a creative journey through art and color. In this beginner-friendly virtual workshop, you’ll explore the famous “blue periods” of artists like Matisse, Picasso, Klee, Yves Klein, and Hockney, then create your own expressive self-portrait using only shades of blue. We’ll guide you step-by-step as you break down facial features into abstract shapes, blending a touch of art history with hands-on creativity all from the comfort of home. 

 

Supplies:

 

  • 8x10" Watercolor or Mixed Media Paper
  • Pencil
  • Watercolor Paint
  • Water in Dish/Brushes
  • Paper Towel
  • Mirror to see yourself or a photo of you or someone to paint
