Event Details
Prescott Valley Public Library will be handing out solar eclipse glasses on Friday, March 29, from 10:00 AM -12:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM, while supplies last.
On Monday, April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States and Canada. The path of the eclipse will be viewable in totality through several states to the east of Arizona; the eclipse will be viewable with a maximum of 68% coverage at approximately 11:21 AM in Prescott Valley.
Though a partial view will occur in our area, a total eclipse with at least partial view ability coast-to-coast in America is a rare astronomical event. The next coast-to-coast solar eclipse will come to America in 2045.
Prepare yourself for safe viewing of the eclipse by stopping by Prescott Valley Public Library on March 29 between 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM to pick up a pair of solar glasses and an informative eclipse safety sheet.
