| Youth and adults alike can explore the night sky with representatives from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Jim and Linda Lee Planetarium. Make a reservation to step inside the Mobile Dome to view sweeping images of the night sky and solar system. Drop in from 2-7 pm to participate in fun STEM activities, and from 7-8 pm have a guided look through telescopes to view the real night sky above the library. This program presented in partnership with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Jim and Linda Lee Planetarium. MOBILE DOME: (Registration Required):All Mobile Dome presentations are 30 minutes in length. Due to limited space, presentations in the Mobile Dome require registration. Registration opens Monday, February 9. Note: participants of mobile dome shows should be prepared to be seated on the floor for the duration of the 30 minute program. Please let a librarian know at the time of registration if accommodation is needed. YOUTH PRESENTATIONS IN MOBILE DOME: Registration is required and opens Monday, February 9. Explore our neighborhood in space, the family of planets that orbit the Sun along with the Earth. From dramatic Mercury to the chill Neptune, discover something unique about each planet in the solar system in this live and interactive show. This presentation is limited to 25 participants. 4 pm - One Sky. Everyone looks at the sky a little differently and tells stories from their own cultures that reflect their connection to it. In a series of prerecorded short stories, find out how the ancient Greeks, Japanese and Hawaiians each look at the stars that we call Orion a little differently. This presentation is limited to 25 participants. 4:30 pm - One Sky. Everyone looks at the sky a little differently and has made sense of it, organizing the stars in their own way. In a series of prerecorded short stories, find out how the Innu of Canada, Navajo of the Southwest and Jai Singh of India each found meaning in the sky. This presentation is limited to 25 participants. 6 pm - One Sky. A Hunter, a Drum, and a Canoe, each reflects a different traditional culture's way of organizing the stars of the night sky. Join us for this series of prerecorded short stories and discover which culture honored each of these with a place in the sky. This presentation is limited to 25 participants.
