Prescott Valley Public Library will host Writer-in-Residence Janette Rallison. Join us for special Writer in Residence writing workshops from May through July.
Dialogue: How To Get Your Characters Talking--The Right Way --- Dialogue isn’t real speech, but it must sound that way to your reader. In this class, you’ll learn ten techniques that will help you create the artful deception. You’ll learn which deadly tagline mistakes to avoid, how to do away with unnecessary taglines, and the right way to convey needed information to your readers through dialog (and when you shouldn’t).
This class is open to teens and adults. Registration is separate for each workshop.
Future Writer in Residence Workshops:
- July 11, 2026: Creating Compelling Characters
- July 25, 2026: An Author’s Life (And How You Can Become One Too, you Know, if Ninja doesn’t Work Out as a Career)
Summer 2026 Writer in Residence – Janette Rallison
Janette Rallison, Prescott Valley’s 2026 Writer-in-Residence, is a USA Today bestselling author. Janette Rallison/CJ Hill writes books because writing is much more fun than cleaning bathrooms. She lives in Chandler, Arizona, with her husband and enough pets to classify her as eccentric.
