Program Description

Event Details

Prescott Valley Public Library will be hosting writer in residence, Kim Tomsic. Join us for special Writer in Residence writing workshops from September through November.

Expanding Your Craft Toolbox and Critique Skills --- This dynamic workshop is designed to sharpen your picture book writing through focused craft lessons and hands-on critique. We'll explore dialogue tags, active verbs, show versus tell, ticking time clocks, and jacket flap hooks - plus dig deeper into revising and critiquing. A guided critique session will give you practical feedback in a supportive setting. Please bring five printed copies of your manuscripts (Times Roman, 12 point, double-space, one-sided), fresh ideas from your Collections Journal, and a notebook for notes and inspiration.

Expanding Your Craft Toolbox and Critique Skills is the fifth in a series of Writer in Residence Workshops. This class is open to teens/adults.
