Event Details
Music in the Stacks is a showcase of local and national musicians who entertain regularly in Northern Arizona. There are 3-5 different performers during the show, with a rotating variety each month.
This month's concert features Eric Douglas, Reno McCormick, and Gioia.
Eric Douglas is an Arizona singer/songwriter who combines contemporary folk, classic rock, and Texas country to tell stories of people finding their place in the world...for better or worse. Eric paints an American landscape, with songs from the Southwestern desert, the Great Plains, and the open road. He is a dynamic live performer, and a veteran of folk festivals across Arizona - either solo or with folk trio Hambone.
Reno McCormick has been playing down-to-earth bluegrass, folk, country, and western music since the 1980s. From Colorado to California to Arizona he has played at festivals, fairs, clubs, and gatherings. Reno has been playing guitar since he was a teenager and is a multi-instrumentalist who also plays fiddle, dobro, mandolin, and banjo. Since moving to the Verde Valley in 2005, Reno has performed with his wife Sheila as a duo and as members of bands at Flagstaff’s Pickin’ in the Pines Bluegrass and Acoustic Music Festival, Prescott Bluegrass Festival, Tres Rios Nature Festival, and Alpine Bluegrass Festival, to name a few.
Blue-eyed soulstress, Gioia, of the duo, Sugar Moon, is a dynamic vocalist, playing in the pocket rhythms on guitar and ukulele to a fun mix of well-loved covers.
