Event Details

PreventT2 is a CDC-approved lifestyle change program that features an approach that is proven to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes. As part of the PreventT2 group, you will work with a trained lifestyle coach and other participants to learn the skills you need to make lasting changes. You will learn to eat healthy, add physical activity to your life, mange stress, stay motivated, and solve problems that can get in the way of healthy changes. PreventT2 consists of 26 sessions that take place over the course of a year.

Yavapai County Community Health Services will offer the PreventT2 lifestyle change program to Camp Verde residents. Prevent T2 is part of the National Diabetes Prevention Program, led by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and is proven to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes.

In PreventT2, participants work with a trained YCCHS Health Educator to learn the skills and strategies needed to eat healthier, become more physically active, manage stress, and overcome barriers that can get in the way of sustainable and lasting changes. PreventT2 provides a supportive and motivating group setting, where participants celebrate their successes and find ways to overcome obstacles.

PreventT2 will be held at the Camp Verde Community Library, 10:00a.m.-11:00a.m. The program will begin on Thursday, March 9, 2023. Individuals may register for the program at the first session. PreventT2 will meet weekly for the first 12 sessions and then either bi-weekly or monthly for the remaining 14 sessions.
