Rubik’s Cubes are amazing. They combine each aspect of STEM in one classic toy. Teens ages 11 and up are invited to join our Teen Cubing Club on Fridays at 3:00pm. All skill levels welcome. Bring your own cubes or use one of ours.
43,252,003,274,489,856,000 (43 quintillion, 252 quadrillion, 3 trillion, 274 billion, 489 million, 856 thousand) is the number of combinations, including the solved state, of the original 3x3 Rubik’s cube, invented in 1974 by Erno Rubik as a teaching device for his architecture class.Today’s modern cubes, often referred to as speedcubes, add magnets and spring compression adjustments to fit the user’s preference, so they can be solved as quickly as possible, with the fastest time being mere seconds.
Despite the 43 quintillion combinations, anyone can learn to solve a cube. Teens who join us each Friday at 3:00p can learn to start with the beginner method, and then progress to advanced techniques, and even other twisty puzzles, like 2x2, 4x4, 5x5, and pyraminx!
